Answer your call – God has assigned each of us a unique role to bring the Gospel to the world.  It’s up to us to hear his call and act!

Director of Volunteers, Sally O’Dwyer, and Margot Chavez, Program Coordinator for Volunteers at Catholic Charities Diocese of Arlington, will discuss what exactly “a call” is, explain Church teaching on our call, speak practically about what a call might feel or look like in our daily lives, and to respond. We will talk about how to serve in an effective way that meets your current ability to give of your time and talent, without fear of being ineffective or becoming overwhelmed. Understanding our call to serve gives us the courage and fortitude to persevere even when times are tough, when we are not thanked and when cannot see the fruits of our work.

Workshop Objectives

At this workshop, you will:

• Understand God’s call for YOU
• Be inspired and recharge your commitment to serve the “least of these”
• Identify your gifts and talents
• Understand that God is at work in your daily life
• Know that identifying your call is a life journey
• Learn what our Church teaches regarding our call.
• Find out how to remove barriers to serving others
• Receive practical tips to get started
• Learn how to volunteer effectively, in a way that is meaningful to you, and truly helpful to others
