Love to sing? Enjoy music at masses? Like to be part of enhancing liturgies and spiritually moving the congregation at our church?
Consider singing with the Nativity Traditional Choir (NTC)! We are looking for additional choir members in ALL sections — high soprano, soprano, alto, tenor, and bass. Experienced or not, we welcome anyone over 18 years of age who can sing in harmony, and repeat or mimic a musical phrase. A larger traditional choir will ensure a substantial ensemble each Sunday, providing coverage for members who at times must be absent due to illness, travel, family duties or conflict.
The NTC sings at the 9:00 am Sunday Mass throughout the year, as well as at Christmas Eve Midnight Mass (with the Christmas Chamber Orchestra), the Easter Vigil and Easter Sunday morning Mass (with the Easter Brass Quintet), parish Confirmation Mass, and other special occasions. Rehearsals are held on Thursday evenings in the Church from 7:30 – 9:00 pm. Its repertoire consists of a variety of sacred music spanning different periods and styles, including traditional hymns, classical choral works, Gospel and contemporary Christian music.
If you have a love for music, consider using your gifts to worship the Lord, enrich the liturgy, and pray by singing in harmony with others. St. Augustine said, “If we sing, we pray twice!” And a big plus — you’ll always be guaranteed a seat at mass! If interested or you wish to join, please come speak to the organist or NTC Choir Director at the Sunday 9:00 am mass, or contact Mai Tran at [email protected].
