Fr. Vaccaro & New Priest Assignments

New priest assignments were announced on May 13, 2021.

Our dear Father Vaccaro, who has been with us since his ordination four years ago, has been given a new assignment to become the parochial vicar at Sacred Heart of Jesus parish in Winchester.  It is a large parish with a school and covers a significant portion of the western area of the diocese.

It is hard for us to let go, and we would want Fr. Vaccaro to stay with us, but God is calling him to share his priestly ministry at Sacred Heart.  They are going to love him, just as we have loved him.  The new assignments begin on June 24, so we still have Fr. Vaccaro for another six weeks!  A celebration is being planned at Nativity to thank and honor Fr. Vaccaro the weekend before his move.

Father Ed Bresnahan, currently parochial vicar at St. Andrews in Clifton, will be coming to Nativity.  He also served previously as the chaplain at Bishop Ireton High School.  We welcome Fr. Bresnahan to Nativity.  Soon to be Father Jonathan Smith will become the parochial vicar at St. Andrews, replacing Fr. Bresnahan.

We will also have a seminarian joining us this summer.  Deacon Peter Clem will arrive on Monday, June 7 and will be with us as he completes his final year of formation at Mt. St. Mary’s Seminary.

Let us pray for Father Vaccaro and Father Bresnahan, Deacon Smith and Deacon Clem as they prepare for new assignments.
