Nativity’s Knights of Columbus Council 7992 will be awarding eight George Getek Memorial Pro-Life Scholarships in memory of the Council’s Passionate Pro-Life Leader. Entrants must be attending high school (public, private, Catholic, or homeschooled) or college/trade school during the 2024-2025 academic year. The applicant or the applicant’s parent(s)/guardian(s) must be registered member(s) of Nativity Catholic Church, Burke Virginia. Application submissions are due no later than midnight, Saturday, May 31, 2025.

The Fr. Vincent S. Sikora Knights of Columbus Council No. 7992 awards George Getek Memorial Pro-Life Scholarships in memory of the Council’s Passionate Pro-Life Leader.
Eight awards will be given to students who best exemplify the traits of the pro-life spirit through their respective essay/artistic responses and efforts.

- Two $500 1st-place scholarships* and two $150 Runner-up scholarships* to college/trade school students
- Two $250 1st-place scholarships* and two $100 Runner-up scholarships* to high school students
- The two scholarships at each award level (e.g., two 1st-place finishers) will be given as follows: one to a daughter of a Nativity parishioner (or a registered parishioner herself) and one to a son of a Nativity parishioner (or a registered parishioner himself).
Requirements
Applicants must meet these three requirements:

- The applicant or the applicant’s parent(s)/guardian(s) must be registered member(s) of Nativity Catholic Church, Burke Virginia.
- Entry is limited to those individuals who are attending high school (public, private, Catholic, or homeschooled) or college/trade school during the 2024-2025 academic year.
- The scholarship award may only be used for education-related expenses.
Application submissions are due no later than midnight, Saturday, May 31, 2025. Scholarship awardees will be announced in June.
