The Folk Choir leads the music at the 12:45 pm Sunday Mass. The Folk Choir also participates in special celebrations that occur during the Church Year– including Christmas Eve, Holy Thursday and Easter Sunday. The Folk Choir was founded in 1996. Our primary mission is to encourage congregational participation in the singing at mass. We love to enhance the hymns and songs by adding SATB harmonies, as well as our own improvised parts. The Folk Choir enjoys performing Christian music of various styles and times—from ancient to modern!
Membership in the Folk Choir is open to singers and instrumentalists with a heart for ministry, high school age and up. Auditions for singers are not necessary, but a “good ear,” some previous choir experience and an ability to blend with the other singers would be ideal. Experienced Instrumentalists (guitar, flute, recorder, violin) interested in joining are asked to please consult with the director about openings in our band.
Rehearsal is Sunday prior to the 12:15 pm Mass.
We warmly welcome new members! If interested in joining, please come up after 12:45 Mass any Sunday to meet the director, Debbie Doyle.Contact Us or Join
