On this date, Nativity celebrated its first wedding; Father Frank Ready was the celebrant. Married that day were Sheldon Wright Chaplin, Jr., 22, of Springfield, Virginia, the son of Sheldon and Mary (Normandin) Chaplin, and Victoria Louise Munz, 20, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, the daughter of Clarence Stewart and Eleanor (Funck) Munz. In these early days, wedding Masses were celebrated at St. Mary’s Historic Church. From that date to mid-July 2022, Nativity has celebrated 1,360 weddings.
