My name is Fr. Jonathan Bennett. I grew up in Rockville, Maryland, and I have two older brothers and a younger sister. I graduated High School from the Heights School in Potomac, Maryland. I made my way across the river to Arlington Virginia through my last profession as a pipe fitter for a fire protection company, and my home parish is St. Agnes in Arlington.
I entered College Seminary at the Josephinum in Columbus, Ohio, and finished my academic formation to the priesthood this past Spring at Mount St. Mary’s Seminary in Emmitsburg, Maryland.
Before I understood God’s call for me to enter Seminary, I always felt a strong desire to help people, especially through service. This desire turned to action, when I began to serve the community as an EMT at my local fire department while I was living in Maryland. Service in the fire department meant caring for the needs of the body, but God was calling me to care for the needs of souls. I was overjoyed to realize this role our Lord was calling me to when I was ordained to the Priesthood this past June.
