Review the Godparent Requirements
1. There must be at least one Catholic Godparent
2. The Catholic Godparent must have received Baptism, Eucharist, and Confirmation and be a regular participant in the life of the Church. If married, the Godparent must be married in the Catholic Church, or the marriage recognized by the Catholic Church.
3. If there are two Gopdarents, one must be male and the other female.
4. There can only be 2 official Godparents
5. Minimum age: 16 years old
6. Must provide 'Certificate of Eligibility' from their own parish
7. A baptized Christian, non-Catholic, may be a Christian Witness, but not a Godparent. A person who was baptized Catholic cannot be a Christian Witness.
8. A person who has not been baptized may not act as a Godparent or witness.
