The Fair Trade Holiday Market will take place in the Nativity School Cafeteria on Saturday, November 29, 4:00–7:00 pm and Sunday, November 30, 8:00 am–3:00 pm. Fair Trade embodies the principles of Catholic Social Teaching including but not limited to, care for God’s Creation and the Dignity of Work and the Rights of Workers. Fair Trade offers beautifully crafted items ranging from jewelry and accessories to home goods, toys, clothing, food, cookie and soup mixes, coffee, children’s items, and holiday items—each has a story to tell about the artisans who created it. The Haitian metal art is particularly popular with Nativity parishioners. Handmade products make wonderful gifts and mean so much more than mass-produced items.
Consider meaningful holiday gifts this year and support fair trade, especially during these challenging times for the artisans! Fair Trade is endorsed as a means of sustainable development by Catholic Relief Services and the US Conference of Catholic Bishops. Bring your visiting family and friends!

Why Fair Trade?
Meant to be a long-term system, not short-term charity, Fair Trade works to make communities on all levels sustainable. Fair Trade Organizations are invested in the people they work with, helping them meet nutritional needs, get access to health care, receive financial training, and a variety of other projects, depending on the needs of the community.
In addition, Fair trade products celebrate the cultural diversity of communities around the world. Often, artisans use centuries-old techniques passed down from previous generations, incorporating traditional craft methods into stylish, unique products that protect their cultural heritage and allow you to enjoy the skill and beauty of their craft.
Fair Trade Winds will donate 10% of sales to Nativity Creation Care’s sustainability and garden programs.
