Calling all Bakers and Prayer Warriors!
Prisoners Cookies
We need cookies filled with prayer for men participating in the Kairos Prison Ministry Weekend. Several members of Nativity are on the Kairos team, and each is asked to bring 100 dozen cookies!
Kairos (Cursillo FOR the inmates) offers the opportunity to act on Jesus’ words, ‘When I was ill you cared for me, and in prison you visited me.’ (Matthew 25:36) These homemade cookies shine the light of God’s love into the darkest corners of prison life. Each cookie is a prayer that can bring an inmate or warden closer to God.
If you cannot bake, please pray for the inmates and team making the weekend.
Cookie Collection
The cookies can be baked ahead and frozen. They will need to be dropped off at Nativity Office or the Narthex by Monday, November 16, 2026.

Cookie Guidelines
There are specific guidelines for cookies and recipes:
Cookie Preparation: The types of cookies that are generally acceptable are Oatmeal, Peanut Butter, Molasses, Chocolate Chip, Ginger and Sugar. Cookies should be between 2″ and 2-1/2″ in diameter and not more than 1/2″ thick. It is very important not to use icing, sugar or any other type of coating on the outside of the cookie. Do not add any kind of fruit or nuts to the cookies.
The Key Ingredient: Prayer Pray individually or as a family over the ingredients before and during mixing. Pray over the cookies as you drop them onto the cookie sheets and bake them. Pray that each cookie brings the inmate, officer or warden who eats it closer to God.
Packing the Cookies: Bag thoroughly cooled cookies in a quart sized zip lock bag, a dozen cookies to a bag. Label each bag with the cookie type inside.
