NIHCS Explore World of Italian Cheese

You’re invited to explore the wonderful world of Italian cheese with the Nativity Italian Heritage and Cultural Society in May.  Our own Diane Welland, dietitian, media spokesperson and food & nutrition writer, will take us on a tasting tour of the top cheese regions of Italy. We’ll learn about cheese traditions, as we travel from the northern Alpine mountains in Valle de Aosta where Fontina has been made since the 12th century to the rocky coast of Sicily and Southern Italy where Pecorino cheeses flourish. Discover what it is that makes these cheeses so special, which foods are often paired with them and what classic Italian dishes they are best known for.  We’ll also get to sample some of these delicacies. The evening should be a tasty and informative one.
