On August 5, 2004, a Funeral Mass was offered at Nativity for Father Salvator Ciullo, Nativity’s second pastor. The celebrant was Arlington Bishop Paul Loverde. Father Ciullo died 25 July while visiting family in Italy. He was 73. Father Ciullo was pastor at Nativity for 12 years, from 1984 to 1996. After leaving Nativity in 1996, he served as founding pastor of St. Raymond of Penafort Parish in Fairfax Station, where he served until 2000 when he became pastor of Queen of Apostles Parish in Alexandria. He retired in December 2000. At the time of his death, he was living in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Interment followed at Mount Comfort Cemetery in Alexandria.
