On This Date in Nativity History

5 December 2015

Saturday, December 5, 2015, was a day of joy and celebration at Nativity Parish.  At the 5:30 pm vigil Mass that day, Arlington Bishop Paul Loverde was the celebrant as the parish dedicated the recently completed $8 million Father Richard B. Martin Center.  In addition to a community center that featured a gymnasium, basketball court, and performance stage, the building also contained badly needed space for Nativity School: an art lab, science lab and classrooms.  One school administrator remarked later that the opening of the Center was the most important event for the school since its founding in 1996.  After Mass, the standing-room-only crowd moved to the Center where all in attendance could enjoy the spacious gym.
