On This Date in Nativity History
13 September 2014
On this date, Nativity parishioners led by Pastor Father Bob Cilinski, celebrated the groundbreaking for the new Parish Activities Center, to be named for Father Richard Martin. The building, to be completed in December 2015, would house a gymnasium which could also serve as a theater, meeting hall, and community center, as well as a science lab and an art room to serve Nativity School. The groundbreaking was attended by numerous parishioners as well as a number of local diocese officials and local political leaders; no one was disheartened by the light rain that fell throughout the day. The featured guest was Nativity’s Founding Pastor, Father Frank Ready, Vicar General Emeritus of the diocese. Among those breaking ground were Sister Mary Attilia and Sister Donatella. Parishioners participated in the groundbreaking by adding a bit of soil from their gardens.
