2026 Peace & Justice Conference

The Catholic Diocese of Arlington’s Peace and Justice Commission will host its 2026 conference “Immigration and the Church’s Prophetic Voice” at Nativity Catholic Church on Saturday, March 7, starting with 5:00 pm Mass with Most Rev. Michael F. Burbidge, Bishop of Arlington and special guest speaker Bishop Evelio Menjivar-Ayala, Archdiocese of Washington. Childcare will be offered at this event for Nativity parishioner families only, due to limited space.

Conference Details

Schedule
5:00 pm – Vigil Mass with Bishop Michael Burbidge
6:15 pm – Dinner –The menu will accommodate a variety of common dietary sensitivities.
7:00 pm – Keynote Address: Bishop Evelio Menjivar-Ayala, Auxiliary Bishop of Washington
7:45 pm – Q&A
8:15 pm – Closing Remarks and Blessing

Childcare Information

Due to limited space, child care is available only for Nativity parishioners.  Childcare is limited and first come, first serve. Childcare will be offered in the school’s preschool classroom.  Childcare will start at 6:00 pm and go until the event’s end.

    • First, for families who have not done so, please register your child(ren) with the Nativity Childcare Ministry here
    • Then, please sign up for childcare during the conference in the childcare signup form.
    • Childcare is a flat $5 per child, maximum $15 for 3 or more children and is available from 6:00 pm – 8:30 pm.
    • Payment can be made online, or by cash/check at the event.
    • Parent(s) must be a attending the event in order to utilize this childcare. Parents, don’t forget to RSVP for the diocesan conference here.

The Marriage Enrichment Ministry subsidizes childcare; we want families present and to provide a safe and caring environment for your children.

What to bring:  Parents can bring a labeled water bottle for their child. Please have your children eat dinner with you before coming to childcare. Goldfish crackers will be provided as snack. If your child needs restroom or diaper-changing assistance, a volunteer will come and get you. Parents will need to sign their child in and out. Age and developmentally-appropriate activities will be taking place for the children.
