RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION FOR CHILDREN & HIGH SCHOOLERS

What is RCIC?

RCIC is a formation process for children designed to instruct children and high schoolers in the Roman Catholic faith and receive the sacraments of the Church.

Who should attend RCIC classes?

• • Students who have never been baptized and who are thinking about becoming a Christian in the Roman Catholic Church
  • Students who have been baptized in another Christian church and desire to become Catholic
  • Students that are baptized in the Catholic Church and who have not completed their full initiation into the Church through the Sacraments of Eucharist and Confirmation
  • RCIC is for children in grades 4-7
  • The RCIC High School program is for teens in grades 8-12

Requirements for registration:

• Student’s Baptismal Certificate if baptized (if the student was baptized in another faith, we still need a copy of that certificate)
• Sponsor Certificate for those students that are receiving the Sacrament of Baptism (up to 2 Sponsors) or Confirmation (only 1 sponsor)

RCIC for High Schoolers

Students in this program will be receiving sacraments at the Easter Vigil.  More information and details will be given to parents at the beginning of the RE School year.

NOTE:  When completing our online student registration, our system will ask a series of questions about each student to determine the appropriate class program to register for and receive needed sacrament(s).
