Religious Education Registration

Registration for all sacramental classes (First Communion, RCIC and Confirmation) will CLOSE on October 16. Also, if the session you want does not appear when selecting your child’s class, that session is full. Please choose from the remaining available options.

Our online registration system is designed to assist you! The online registration will ask a series of questions about your child. Based on the information you provide, our system will prompt you to register your child in the proper class according to the student’s grade and Sacramental needs.

Religious Education Session Schedule

If the session you want does not appear when selecting your child’s class, that session is full and you must choose from the remaining available options.

Our religious education program is for children in Kindergarten through 12th grade and in need of Baptism, First Penance, First Holy Communion, and/or Confirmation. If your child has received all of these sacraments, then they have completed the RE program.

- Copy of Baptismal Certificate: We require a copy of each child’s Baptismal Certificate, if baptized. If your child was baptized at Nativity, we still need a copy of the baptism certificate. You do not need to send one again for children that previously submitted a copy during former RE classes at Nativity. Those waiting on other parishes for a Baptismal Certificate copy have two weeks to email us one.
- Payment Information/Card: Upon completing registration, you will be prompted to ‘Pay Now’ for the registration fee. This creates a unique PayPal invoice link for you to submit payment through. Registrations are only confirmed after payment is made, so please be prepared to pay as soon are you are prompted. You do not need a PayPal account to checkout

ONLINE REGISTRATION

Maximum of 5 children may be registered per form.
All children must be registered together on one form to receive the multi-child discount. Separate forms do not qualify.
Registration is first-come, first-served.
Registrants are committed to the chosen session for the entire RE school year.
If a session does not appear when selecting a class, it is full. Select from the remaining sessions.
Eligibility:
- Kindergarten–12th grade children. Registration for sacramental classes is now closed (2nd grade, 8th grade). Children in these grades will have to register next year..
- Children who have received all of these Sacraments have completed the program and do not need to register.

SACRAMENTAL YEARS

Students in Sacramental classes (First Communion & Confirmation) must:
- Attend all required parent/student meetings and retreats.
- Submit all required paperwork by the stated deadlines.
All program communication is sent by email. Parents are responsible for monitoring and complying with all information.

We follow FCPS Health Guidelines in accordance with the recommendations by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Virginia Department of Health.

Students who have symptoms of, tested positive for, or have been diagnosed with respiratory viruses (RSV, influenza, COVID-19)

Students may return when:

Student is fever-free for 24 hours without fever reducing medication; AND
Student’s symptoms have improved or resolved
Student should consider following additional precautions as outlined per the CDC upon resumption of normal activities.
Note: If your student did not have symptoms at time of testing and remains symptom free, they may return to school immediately considering the use of the additional precautions as noted above.

Face Masks (Cloth or Disposable)

FCPS has revised requirements for face covering in alignment with the Code of Virginia (COV). In alignment with the COV, the parent/legal guardian of any child enrolled in an FCPS school, may elect for such child to not wear a face covering while on school property (to include FCPS buildings). No parent/legal guardian making such an election shall be required to provide a reason or any certification of the child's health or education status and no student shall suffer any adverse disciplinary or academic consequences as a result of this election.
Students, staff, or visitors may choose to mask at any time.

Code of Conduct

In all areas of learning, discipline must be considered in the development of the whole person. The Code of Conduct is based on the Gospel message of Jesus. Growth in self-discipline, a responsibility for Catholic moral values, and a loving respect for the rights of all persons is encouraged and nourished by the Code of Conduct. To achieve these ends, parents, staff, volunteers, and students work together to create a Catholic school environment.

Based upon the Catholic moral values and loving respect for others taught by Jesus, students:

Will be honest and committed to integrity
Will be respectful and courteous toward all teachers, adults, and all other students
Will refrain from harassment of any kind
Will use appropriate language
Will speak respectfully to and about others
Will complete all assignments and participate fully in class
Will respect all school and personal property
Will refrain from any deliberate disruption before, during and after class
Will be present for all required activities unless officially excused by the Sisters (DRE)
Will adhere to proper and modest attire
Will not bring to school nor possess at school any real or toy knives, guns (or any facsimile thereof), sharp objects that may be used as a weapon, matches, lighters, sparklers, laser devices, or any facsimile thereof. It is understood if this term is violated, suspension or expulsion may result
Will maintain and support others who maintain a safe and drug-free environment at or near school
Will not engage in any physical or verbal contact with another student which could be interpreted to be an inappropriate display of affection. Such conduct is prohibited on school grounds.
Will, at all times, whether at school or in the community, conduct themselves in a manner that reflects the Catholic values and principles of the Program.

Cell Phone Use Policy

RECORDING OR TAKING PICTURES OF STUDENTS, OR TEACHERS, IS PROHIBITED AT ALL TIMES

Phones must be silenced and put away in a backpack or pocket for the duration of the class. Smart watches that serve a dual purpose may be worn, but the phone features (texting, Internet viewing, and calls) are to be off when phone use is prohibited. Students are prohibited from using phones, tablets, and other mobile devices in restrooms, unless there is a medical necessity or emergency. Teachers may allow usage of cell phones for instructional activities when appropriate. Cell phones may be used before and after RE classes only.

Our Religious Education Program observes this Code of Conduct because it is built on fundamental Catholic social teachings. The role of the administration, staff, and catechists is to work with the students and parents to assist the students in developing a strong Christian attitude toward life as well as being safe. Your child's, our staff and our volunteer's safety and well-being is our priority.
