September 27, 2018 – Discover the Italian region of Puglia (Apulia)

Join Nativity Italian Heritage and Cultural Society  as it kicks off its new season discovering the Italian region of Puglia (Apulia) and one its most famous citizens: Padre Pio, Thursday Sept. 27, 7 pm.  At the Nativity School cafeteria.

Guest speaker Daniela Cockayne will discuss her visit to this lesser known area, the heel of the “Italian boot” with all of its hidden treasures and beauty.   Ms. Cockayne will also talk about one of Puglia’s most famous recent residents, Padre Pio — known as Saint Pio, the 20th Century priest known for his piety and charity.  Padre Pio’s feast day is September 23, so join us for an evening about this lovely, sun-drenched area and its most famous resident.
