Welcome Deacon Jonathan

Hello everyone, my name is Deacon Jonathan Smith and I am thrilled to be serving the people of Nativity parish this summer! I was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio as the second of four children and I have one niece and one nephew. I moved to Northern Virginia to attend George Mason University and upon graduation in 2013, I spent two years working in campus ministry as a missionary with FOCUS (The Fellowship of Catholic University Students) at Belmont Abbey College near Charlotte, NC. I entered the seminary for the Diocese of Arlington in 2015 and was sent to study philosophy and theology at St. Charles Borromeo Seminary in Philadelphia, PA. After one final year of studies, I’ll be ordained a priest next year at the Cathedral of St. Thomas More in Arlington.

You’ll see me around the parish this summer assisting at Mass, preaching, baptizing, and helping in any way I can. If you’re around, please be sure to introduce yourself!
