WON | Annual Advent Tree

The Women of Nativity (WON) annual Advent Giving Tree project provides help at Christmas for our brothers and sisters in need.  This program offers a way for parishioners to provide much needed items to several Nativity Charities and Community Organizations.  Gifts for children are highlighted, but persons of all ages benefit.  We would very much appreciate your support and prayers for another successful Giving Tree.  In all, the Advent Giving Tree provides items to 15 different groups.

Nativity Parish Charities

• • Light Green House | Appalachian Home Building Project – Gifts are used for the new home the Knights will build for a family in Kentucky next summer
  • Orange Gingerbread Men | Father Wilson’s Counseling Project – Gifts are provided to the families Father Wilson counsels
  • Bright Yellow Christmas Ball | Nativity’s Hispanic Outreach Program – Serves Nativity’s Hispanic community
  • Lavender Laundry Basket | Laundry Love – Helps individuals/families at a local laundry mat and at this time of year provides those individuals with food baskets for Christmas
  • Red Ornament | Nativity Parish families in need/Sisters Charities – Gifts are for Parish families in need or are in support of the Sister’s Charities

Community Organizations

• • Multi-colored Small Tags | Annie B. Rose House for Seniors – A residence for seniors; the gift cards will be provided to the residents.
  • Light Pink Christmas Ball | Catholic Charities Migration & Refugee – Provides household items to help families get settled in their new country
  • Turquoise Christmas Ball | ECHO – Provides food, clothing, and financial aid to neighbors in need across the Burke and Springfield area. At Christmas provides gifts to children.
  • Lavender Christmas Ball | Lorton Community Action Center (LCAC) – Helps break the cycle of poverty and prevent homelessness through a variety of services and programs.
  • Light Blue Diamond | MaRih Center – Serves area Moms and their children by providing: pregnancy testing, maternity and baby clothes, diapers, formula, etc.
  • Light Yellow Christmas Ball | SOME (So Others Might Eat) – Helps clients in need of: housing, emergency & social service, healthcare, education & workforce development, and advocacy.
  • Light Blue Christmas Ball | St. Augustine Church, Washington, D.C. –  Mother Church of Black Catholics in DC. At Christmas provides gifts to Children

Donation Form & Envelope for Direct Mailing

• • Catholic Charities Gabriel Project – Donations will assist unwed mothers with pre/postnatal needs.
  • Divine Mercy Care (DMC) – Helps women access pro-life medical care by partnering with pro-life doctors. DMC also provides charity support to Tepeyac OB/GYN in Fairfax.
  • Holy Family Hospital, Order of Malta – Provides state-of-the-art pediatric, obstetric, and gynecological care to women and children of the Holy Land.
