Marriage Enrichment Ministry invites all parish adults, especially engaged and married couples, to our October Date Night with guest speaker Chris Vander Woude, titled “No Greater Love: The Story of Tom Vander Woude” on October 17, 6:30 pm, in the cafeteria. Please RSVP. Dinner provided. Childcare offered, but limited.

No Greater Love: The Story of Tom Vander Woude—Come hear the powerful story of a local man, told by his son, who lived a life of sacrifice and service all the way through his final act of saving his youngest son. As a result his cause for canonization is now being considered by Bishop Burbidge.

Chris Vander Woude has worked for nearly 20 years in Catholic Education and Youth Ministry. He has served as a Dean of Students and Athletic Director at all levels of education from Kindergarten through College. He has coached basketball, soccer and volleyball at the high school and collegiate level. Chris earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Christendom College. He lives with his wife Katy of 19 years with their 11 year old daughter, Zelie (Zaley) in Northern Virginia.

Last year Chris began a mission to share the powerful and uplifting story of his late father, Thomas S. Vander Woude, as well as lay the groundwork for his possible cause for canonization.

Childcare is limited and first come, first serve. Childcare will be offered in the school’s preschool classroom.  Childcare will start at 6:00 pm and go until the event’s end.

  • Then, please register your child for childcare during this date night in the RSVP below.
  • Childcare is a flat $5 per child, maximum $15 for 3 or more children and is available from 6:00 pm – 8:30 pm.
  • Payment can be made online on the RSVP form, or by cash/check at the event.
  • Parent(s) must be a attending the event in order to utilize this childcare

The Marriage Enrichment Ministry subsidizes childcare; we want families present and to provide a safe and caring environment for your children.

What to bring:  Parents can bring a labeled water bottle for their child. Please have your children eat dinner before coming to child care. Goldfish crackers will be provided as snack. If your child needs restroom or diaper-changing assistance, a volunteer will come and get you. Parents will need to sign their child in and out. Age and developmentally-appropriate activities will be taking place for the children.
