The 2026 National Faith & Blue Weekend is October 9-12 under the theme “Building Bridges to More Inclusive Communities.” As part of the nation’s largest annual collaborative policing initiative, National Faith & Blue Weekend facilitates safer and stronger communities by engaging law enforcement officers and local residents through the connections of faith-based organizations. Faith & Blue is based on the premise that strong communities are built through mutual respect and understanding. Law enforcement and faith institutions are key pillars of each community, and when they work together, neighborhoods thrive.
Support Your Local Police Station
Nativity Parish supports the local West-Springfield District Police Station and is part of their ecumenical Police and Faith Community, with Joe Tiago on the planning committee. The committee is planning a Faith & Blue Brunch for the Police and Faith Leadership to be held at the West Springfield District Station on October 9. Faith community leaders from over 70 houses of worship are invited to share resources, create relationships, and connect with the Fairfax County Police Department.
On October 6–12, Nativity Catholic Church will be collecting the following items to support our West-Springfield Police Station:

- Appreciation letters and cards
- Healthy snacks
- Protein bars and shakes
- Baked goods
- Bottled coffee, water, and energy drinks
Donation Drop-Offs: Donations can be dropped off at the church office during weekdays, at the designated table in the church narthex before/after weekend masses on October 10-11, or by contacting Joe Tiago at ecumenicalministry@nativityburke.org. All donated items will be delivered to the West-Springfield District Police Station on Monday October 12, 2026. Thank you for your generosity!
