Nativity Stars Basketball and Nativity Stars Cheer (part of the Arlington Diocese Northern Virginia Catholic Youth Organization (NVJCYO) Leagues) is open to children in 3rd through 8th grades registered in (1) Nativity’s Religious Education Program with good attendance or (2) enrolled in Nativity Catholic School.
Nativity CYO Basketball and Cheer Volunteer Coaches Needed!
Please prayerfully consider becoming a Nativity Stars Basketball Coach and/or a Nativity Stars Cheer Coach! We currently need volunteer assistant coaches and head coaches for 3rd through 8th grade boys and girls Basketball teams and volunteer assistant coaches, and head coaches, and schedule coordinators for girls Cheer.
The weekly coaching commitment is usually one 1.5-2 hour practice per week and a weekend game, plus any administrative work (team rosters, uniform/gear pick up, communication with parents).

Volunteer Requirements
Prospective Nativity NVJCYO coaches have to complete a Child Protection Compliance background check and VIRTUS training (scheduled & hosted by Arlington Diocese). Coaches have to be Nativity parish members, but are not required to have children playing on the teams they coach.
Volunteers are also to complete Concussion Training.
